The house presents MYSLF as its first woody floral for men, a classic woody twisted by flowers. It declares three stages: a fresh accord of Calabrian bergamot heart and green bergamot, a Tunisian orange blossom absolute, a woody accord of Indonesian patchouli and Ambrofix.

Two bergamots at the top

The house wants the opening fresh and vibrant. Elena Knezevic smells a scratchy clean-laundry citrus, a very fresh dihydromyrcenol and a streak of fiery aftershave; Michael Adams, a fresh, spicy, slightly citrusy burst.

Tunisian orange blossom at the heart

The orange blossom absolute comes from Tunisia, from flowers grown for YSL Beauté according to the house, which calls it raw and beating. For Elena Knezevic, the flower turns to lavender in this assertive fougère, where a trace of Libre’s sweet lavender passes through.

Patchouli and Ambrofix at the base

The base joins Ambrofix and an Indonesian patchouli in a woody accord. Elena Knezevic finds it softened by the balsamic sweetness of Ambrofix; Michael Adams likens this base to Dior’s Sauvage, whose dominant amber note he recognizes.

What remains outside the declared accord

Ambrofix, a synthetic molecule, is not among the notes retained, any more than the green bergamot that doubles the top bergamot or the ambergris Wikiparfum associates with it. The house names no material other than these four.

What the label declares

Nineteen lines make up the house’s list. Besides alcohol, Parfum and water, it bears limonene, linalool, coumarin, citronellol, a UV filter, alpha-isomethyl ionone, citral, methyl anthranilate, geraniol, cinnamal, isoeugenol and farnesol.

Four colorants close it: blue, yellow, red and violet. No essential oil is declared, and the list carries neither lilial nor lyral.
