Ginger and cardamom at the top

The house wants a fresh, spicy ginger trail. Yazhini Manimudi first hears a screechy metallic note that quickly fades; the blend of ginger, bergamot and cardamom strikes her as lively and icy, the spices cooling rather than warming, with the ginger in the spotlight.

Ourika orange blossom at the heart

The orange blossom ranges, according to the house, from its fresh essence to a rich, sensual accord born in the house’s Moroccan gardens. For Yazhini Manimudi, it remains the true heart of the fragrance and the thread of the line, though less pronounced than in the first two MYSLF.

Indonesian patchouli at the base

The base rests on an overdose of patchouli heart, which the house says comes from responsible sources in Indonesia. Yazhini Manimudi sees in it what keeps the fragrance from leaning feminine, without the dated feel of an old-school patchouli.

What remains outside the declared accord

Neither amber nor musk appears in the house’s descriptions, limited to bergamot, ginger, cardamom, orange blossom and patchouli. The Ourika scent trek accord stays in the prose, as does the patchouli overdose.

What the label declares

Twenty lines make up the list published by Yves Saint Laurent. Behind alcohol, Parfum and water come linalool, limonene, coumarin, a UV filter, citronellol, methyl anthranilate, alpha-isomethyl ionone, citral, eugenol, geraniol, cinnamal, farnesol and isoeugenol.
