REPLICA When the Rain Stops

REPLICA When the Rain Stops is a unisex eau de toilette by Maison Margiela, announced in December 2021 in the Replica collection and composed by Fanny Bal. The memory of a spring shower in Dublin in 1967, this woody aquatic pairs bergamot, a vegetal accord and pink pepper with an aquatic accord, Isparta rose and jasmine, over a base of pine needles, Bali patchouli and moss.

Maison Margiela divides When the Rain Stops into three tiers: bergamot oil, a vegetal accord and pink pepper essence in the top; an aquatic accord, Isparta rose petal essence and a jasmine grandiflorum superinfusion in the heart; pine needle oil, Bali patchouli essence and a moss accord in the base.

The aquatic accord is an in-house creation, built on Calone, Aqual and aldehydes. Patchouli, sourced in Bali, is for the house the material that evokes nature soaked after the rain. The Isparta rose essence, from Turkey, combines through hydrodistillation an essential oil and a concentrated rose water.
