L’Orpheline was launched by Serge Lutens in 2014 in his Collection Noire, composed with Christopher Sheldrake. The house reads in it the mystique of frankincense, grey in all its shades to express the cracks of a childhood, and a name whose first syllables evoke Orpheus, the poet who charmed stones.

L’Orpheline takes the Collection Noire bottle, which the house wants minimalist, straight, angular and uncompromising, in its creator’s image. Its sobriety, it says, enhances the richness of the juices, whose colors are as nuanced as precious stones.
The glass is topped with a black cap. The house offers two gestures: purists apply the fragrance with their fingertips using the round stopper, others choose the spray. The eau de parfum comes in 50 and 100 ml.
