Guerlain launched L’Homme Idéal in June 2014, an eau de toilette composed by Thierry Wasser and the house’s first major men’s fragrance since Guerlain Homme. The house describes it as a fresh woody scent built around an almond that runs through it from start to finish, a nod to Jicky: citrus, rosemary and orange blossom at the top, an amaretto accord of almond and tonka bean at the heart, vetiver, cedar and leather at the base.

A square, faceted bottle related to Habit Rouge’s, with matte black lacquered sides and a heavy guilloché cap.

Guerlain describes a square, faceted, clean-lined bottle that takes its lines from a model in the house’s heritage. Osmoz specifies that it nods to the Habit Rouge bottle; its sides are lacquered in a matte black the house calls radical.

The cap, heavy and matte as well, borrows its guilloché from watchmaking. The graphic black-and-white box of the launch carried a QR code, an invitation to a digital journey according to the house. The bottle, sold in 50, 100 and 150 milliliters, can be engraved.
