In the world of perfumery, Nina Ricci designs its fragrances as heroines, each telling a story and offering a different personality. Nina was thus conceived as a fresh and light young woman, as if straight out of a dream. Luna, her little sister, is somewhat rebellious and seems to have gradually broken free. Finally, Bella is a far more daring and seductive woman. Today, for summer 2019, this fragrance reinvents itself and becomes Les Sorbets de Bella, for an even fresher and more gourmand result.
Les Sorbets de Bella, a refreshing gourmand character
Les Sorbets de Bella is a new fragrance that owes its existence to the talented perfumer Sonia Constant. Intended for hot summer days, it relies on an infinitely refreshing scent to win over hearts. Nina Ricci presents it as a frappé, sparkling and icy cocktail. Les Sorbets de Bella opens with a fresh, citrus scent of citrus fruits. It blends grapefruit and green mandarin. Rhubarb and pomegranate then join its top notes, making them more sparkling and tangy. Then, as if echoing its gourmand character and femininity, its heart is enriched with rose jelly. Violet, for its part, lends it a slightly powdery flavor. From there, Les Sorbets de Bella contains an uncommon ingredient coming straight from Asia: shiso. This aromatic plant is widely used in Japanese cuisine. Here, it unfolds its full spicy, herbaceous flavor. Shiso immediately gives Les Sorbets de Bella an untamable character. Moreover, this fragrance's character is only amplified in its base by the presence of woody notes.
Les Sorbets de Bella, when the apple becomes a scoop of ice cream
The bottle of Les Sorbets de Bella, for its part, takes up the emblematic apple shape so often associated with the house of Nina Ricci. The very first bottle shaped like this fruit appeared at Nina Ricci in 1952, with the fragrance Fille d'Eve. Since then, the little apple has been reinvented in countless ways. Here, it is adorned with a lovely pastel green color, infinitely on trend. Its cheerfulness bursts out from every angle, and its sun-kissed brilliance shines through its golden cap. A charmingly seductive detail: a pretty ladybug perches on one of its leaves. Finally, as if to suggest the irresistible temptation of this fragrance, its front side already appears to have been bitten into. To create Les Sorbets de Bella, the house of Nina Ricci says it drew inspiration from Amorino ice creams, a brand renowned across the globe and appreciated for the flavor of its artisanal ice creams made from entirely natural ingredients. With Amorino and Les Sorbets de Bella, Italian tradition already promises to travel the world, and to go well beyond European borders.
