A graduate of the prestigious perfumery school ISIPCA, Olivier Pescheux currently works for the Givaudan group. A simple and discreet man, he states that composing a perfume is like writing a score. At 41 years old, Olivier Pescheux is among the perfumers who work only for prestigious brands. Olivier Pescheux is capable of translating any atmosphere into a perfume. He loves combining varieties of raw materials and molecules. He is responsible for such beautiful perfumes as Higher by Christian Dior (for which he received a FIFI Award), 1 Million, and Chrome Legend by Azzaro. To create Legend, Olivier Pescheux wanted to contrast strength with softness by combining pineapple, verbena, lavender, as well as oakmoss, geranium and sandalwood.
Legend, between strength and virility
Legend is built on one of the best-known accords in perfumery, the fougère. This, however, is worked in a much more modern and elegant way. Legend opens with the aromatic freshness of lavender, combined with the freshness of bergamot, which are quickly joined by pineapple leaves bringing both exotic and sweet tones. It should be noted that lavender is widely used in men's perfumes. It was one of the ingredients that made up the first Eaux de Cologne. The expression of lavender is reassuring without being exuberant. Within masculine compositions, lavender offers an elegant and refined aromatic touch.
