Le Musc & La Peau 4.1

Pierre Guillaume launched Le Musc & La Peau 4.1 in June 2016 at Parfumerie Générale, his house, which now sells its creations under the name Pierre Guillaume Paris. The fragrance joined the Rework collection, in which the perfumer revisits his own classics without replacing them.

The number 4.1 ties it to theme 04, that of musk, opened ten years earlier by Musc Maori, an accord of milky musks and cocoa. The house says it reinvented this musk milk by stripping away its chocolate coating.

A skin scent

The house presents it as a skin elixir, to be worn alone or as a base to personalize another fragrance. Neither animalic nor laundry-like, this musk is meant to speak of our humanity; the house quotes journalist Sarah Bouasse, for whom it smells like us, only better.

A family of products

Launched in 30, 50 and 100 ml, it is now sold in 50, 100 and 200 ml, the largest with a sprayer that produces a wider mist. The house, which presents it as its best-seller, has derived from it its first extrait de parfum, a cleansing gel and a scented emulsion.
