Another Oud was released in 2015 by Juliette Has A Gun, and its name pokes fun at the number of ouds already on shelves. Bergamot and raspberry open, an oud wood and norlimbanol hold the middle, ambroxan and musks close it out. The house sells it in a single size, one hundred milliliters at 160 euros, and credits it with strong projection.

Where to buy

Juliette Has A Gun put Another Oud on sale in 2015. The Parisian house, founded in 2006 by Romano Ricci, was releasing its second oud, six years after Midnight Oud.

A name that targets the market

The brand owns the sarcasm: the name points to the multitude of ouds already on shelves. Saying out loud what everyone else thinks quietly is, according to the house, enough to spark curiosity.

Romano Ricci and his house

Romano Ricci opened Juliette Has A Gun in 2006 with two roses inspired by Shakespeare, and launched Midnight Oud three years later. He also cofounded the Parisian store Nose. The credits for Another Oud name no perfumer.

What the house says

The brand promises an immersion into an Orient in version 2.0 and describes its sillage as formidable. The fragrance comes in a single size, one hundred milliliters, sold at €160 in the catalog.

Olfastory’s review

Thomas Dunckley returns to it regularly: neither discreet nor overpowering, an oud capable of winning over skeptics.
