Mémoire de Roses is the rose of L’Artisan Parfumeur, signed by Christophe Raynaud in February 2022. The house describes it as a hybrid of rose and citrus that no rose grower could raise. Three materials carry it: mandarin, rose, and a musk the house calls white, cottony in the words of those who announced it.

Three declared materials, a simple tiering, and molecules that only the press has named.

What the house declares

Mandarin, rose, musk. The house describes a blend of citrus fruits, bergamot and mandarin, wrapped in a veil of white musk, and a fragrance that floats between the petals without disturbing them.

The rose is not named by species at the house.

What the market serves

The house opens on mandarin, places rose in the middle and closes on musk. Bergamot accompanies the mandarin without being kept among the three materials put forward.

The musks are called cottony by the press at the launch, white by the house. It is the same idea: a clean, soft musk that holds the flower without covering it.

What the label declares

Twelve entries: denatured alcohol, fragrance, water, an ultraviolet filter, and eight regulated allergens — limonene, linalool, citronellol, geraniol, benzyl alcohol, citral, eugenol, farnesol.

Citronellol and geraniol are the two molecules that dominate rose essence, which fits the subject. No substance banned in the European Union appears on it.
