La Fille de l'Air Iris

The house of Courrèges has always been described as a revolutionary name, both in terms of couture and perfumery. André Courrèges used to say: I want to see a different woman.

After awakening the perfume house Courrèges from a long slumber in 2012, the two heads of the house brought new creations to life. Blanc de Courrèges, followed by La Fille de l'Air, proved as seductive and ambitious as their illustrious predecessors. La Fille de l'Air Monoï and then La Fille de l'Air Iris would go on to complete this innovative range, which gave Courrèges a new momentum.

La Fille de l'Air Iris, or the journey of a modern woman through the world of Fabrice Pellegrin

To pay tribute to the great house of haute couture Courrèges, Fabrice Pellegrin composed in 2015 a Fille de l'Air with a understated aesthetic but a captivating and dynamic sillage. As a lover of the trapeze dress, Fabrice Pellegrin helped, with La Fille de l'Air, to recreate the world of the house of Courrèges in a fragrance with a soft light. Like Courrèges does with fashion, Fabrice Pellegrin wanted to bring light into the fragrance, to accentuate its brightness, to make it airy and gossamer, he said about La Fille de l'Air, Courrèges.

It is true that since the great return to perfumery of the house of Courrèges with its three bestsellers (L'Eau de Courrèges, Courrèges in Blue and Empreinte), everyone had been waiting for new fragrances able to capture the spirit of the times just as well as the master couturier had done in the sixties. With Blanc and then La Fille de l'Air, this was achieved.

Buoyed by its success, the young woman launched by Air France was followed by a lovely summer flanker, La Fille de l'Air Monoï. Then in 2017, Fabrice Pellegrin took us into the precious world of iris with La Fille de l'Air Iris, more elegant than ever yet still just as impertinent.

Iris absolute and orange blossom for a Fille de l'Air Iris more precious than ever

Orange blossom absolute was the luminous, captivating thread that Fabrice Pellegrin wanted to follow for La Fille de l'Air. Whether for La Fille de l'Air Monoï or La Fille de l'Air Iris, the perfumer kept this opulent flower, coloring it according to his whims but above all according to his travels. Whatever the composition, orange blossom remains one of the essential stars of the La Fille de l'Air fragrances, both for its luminosity and for its extreme femininity.

For Courrèges, I used an orange blossom absolute. An exceptional quality, rich, noble and textured, of extreme femininity. It is this excellence that evokes Courrèges, and elevates a woman's sillage in the manner of a scented dress, said Fabrice Pellegrin about La Fille de l'Air Courrèges.

Yet orange blossom is not the only star of La Fille de l'Air Iris, which lives up to its name so well. Indeed, by adding to the heart the luxurious and precious powdery note of iris, Fabrice Pellegrin creates, with heliotrope, an elegant and delightfully mysterious accord. The refinement of iris blends with the vibrant citrus notes of the opening as well as with the woody sillage of the depths, forming, with La Fille de L'Air Iris, the elegant and thoroughly modern portrait of the new Courrèges woman.
