Black Phantom is Kilian Hennessy’s rum-and-coffee fragrance, released in 2017 and composed by Sidonie Lancesseur. A Martinique rum accord opens onto a strong coffee that Java vetiver turns bitter, before a base where sugar cane joins a creamy sandalwood. The house files it with its Bois de Caves and launched it under a black lacquered skull.

The bottle is close to a monolith: a block of black lacquered glass, without facet or curve, lit by nothing but the gold metal plate fixed on the shoulder and engraved by hand with the name of the fragrance.
Each face carries the shield of Achilles, the graphic signature of the house. Kilian Hennessy gives the reason: in perfumery, as much is at stake in seduction as in protection.
The 50 and 7.5 ml spray bottles refill indefinitely, the house selling its refills separately. At release, the bottle sat in a black lacquered box whose lid let a grinning skull rise from it.
