Angels’ Share on the Rocks is the iced version of Angels’ Share, composed by Benoist Lapouza for Kilian in 2025. The house draws on the way Kilian Hennessy drinks cognac, over ice: an On the Rocks accord of bergamot, grapefruit and aldehydes, with bitter orange, opens onto cognac and cinnamon, over a base of tonka bean, oak and myrrh.
Kilian divides Angels’ Share on the Rocks into three stages: the On the Rocks accord and bitter orange at the top, cognac and cinnamon at the heart, tonka bean and oak at the base. The house describes the whole as a passage from icy freshness to amber warmth.
The On the Rocks accord
The On the Rocks accord brings together, according to the house, bergamot, grapefruit and aldehydes in a zesty cocktail that gives the fragrance a crystalline freshness. Bitter orange completes the top.
Cognac
The heart takes up the cognac essence of Angels’ Share, warmed by cinnamon. The house sees in it the slow warmth of the spirit, as a counterpoint to the freshness of the top.
The base
The base pairs tonka bean absolute with oak, and the house adds a myrrh resin that softens the cognac. It speaks of a smooth amber allure that balances the icy brilliance of the opening.
