Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum is the rereading Quentin Bisch gave in 2022 of the marine fragrance the house launched in 1991. Three accords only: an iodized marine note in the opening, a sun-warmed leather, a dark patchouli to close. The black glass bottle with blue reflections imitates a bamboo stem cut with a katana.
A bamboo stem in black glass with blue reflections, the cap beveled like a katana cut, 15 % recycled glass.
The 2022 bottle abandons the earlier shapes of the line for a vertical of black glass with bluish reflections. Its silhouette takes up that of bamboo, which the house reads as a sign of strength and suppleness.
The cap is cut on the slant, in the manner of a stem severed by a katana, the samurai sword. It is the only gesture of design on the object, and it is enough to set it apart on a shelf.
The bottle also carries the house’s eco-design discourse: 15 % recycled glass, a glass weight lowered by 23 % that allows 10 ml of extra size on the large format, a cap designed to save 34 % of plastic, an untreated kraft paper carton and an FSC-certified paper box printed with bio-based ink. Two sizes only, 60 and 110 ml.
