Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum is the rereading Quentin Bisch gave in 2022 of the marine fragrance the house launched in 1991. Three accords only: an iodized marine note in the opening, a sun-warmed leather, a dark patchouli to close. The black glass bottle with blue reflections imitates a bamboo stem cut with a katana.
Three accords, not one more: the house publishes a composition of three lines, which is rare and plainly deliberate.
What Kenzo states
A marine note in the top, a leather in the heart, a patchouli in the base. Kenzo speaks of woody and salty notes, of an iodized breath, of the warmth of tanned skin and of the floral tones the patchouli takes on.
A short construction
Persolaise notes that Quentin Bisch holds his leather and patchouli accord with a more restrained hand than the mass-market masculine usually allows. The spicy facets announced by the house are attached to no tier and therefore do not appear in the notes retained.
What stays outside
Wikiparfum adds woody, spicy and solar notes to the house list. None is a raw material and none is placed in a tier: they stay outside the notes. The earlier composition is not carried over either.
What the label declares
Nine entries, including six declared allergens: alpha-isomethyl ionone, benzyl salicylate, eugenol, limonene, isoeugenol and cinnamal.
