FruityJuliette Has A Gun
Juliette has a gun was founded in 2006 by Romano Ricci, great-grandson of Nina Ricci and grandson of Robert Ricci, the man behind L'Air du Temps. The name borrows from Shakespeare's heroine, the gun serving as a metaphor for perfume as a weapon of seduction. The house opened its capital to Cathay Capital in 2021.

Romano Ricci, born in 1978, grew up in a family of perfumers: his great-grandmother Nina Ricci founded the couture house, his grandfather Robert Ricci launched L'Air du Temps in 1948. He chose to build his own rather than take over the family legacy.
Lady Vengeance and Miss Charming opened the catalog in 2006, composed with Francis Kurkdjian. The house works between Paris and Grasse. Romano Ricci also co-founded Nose, a perfume boutique and website based in Paris.
Not a Perfume, a single raw material
Released in 2010, Not a Perfume is composed of a single ingredient, cetalox, a molecule usually relegated to a supporting role and whose scent evokes ambergris and skin. The choice gave the house its biggest success, since extended into a shower gel and a home fragrance.
The Fragrance Foundation France honored Romano Ricci in 2011 with a Board Prize created for the occasion. The names of the perfumes carry forward the brand's tone, between humor and deliberate provocation.
An independence opened up in 2021
In January 2021, the fund Cathay Capital took a minority stake, with the stated goal of development in Asia. The brand was then distributed in forty-two countries and more than two thousand points of sale.
Romano Ricci described his house on this occasion as one of the last independent perfume houses, and justified the move by the need for direct distribution to buyers coming from social media. Antina Ricci, his sister, joined the company.
