Amber Labdanum is the Cologne Intense that Jo Malone London introduced in July 2025, exclusively at Harrods, composed by Yann Vasnier with Céline Roux. The house draws it from the wild cistus fields around Granada: a bitter orange in the top, labdanum in the heart, amber in the base, with vanilla and a roasted oak, for a resinous, rich, sensual fragrance.
The house gives three notes, one per tier: bitter orange in the top, labdanum in the heart, amber in the base. It adds vanilla and a roasted oak, which bring sweetness and complexity.
From bitter orange to amber
Bitter orange, with its fresh bitterness, gives the fragrance a zesty bite that contrasts with the ambery, woody notes of labdanum. It evokes the wild citrus of Andalusia.
Labdanum, a smooth, ambery resin, brings an enveloping warmth reminiscent of incense. Amber, in the base, wraps the fragrance in a woody warmth and gives it sensuality.
Vanilla adds warmth, roasted oak adds woodiness. The house places Amber Labdanum among its woody, resinous, evocative fragrances.
What the label declares
Alcohol denat., fragrance and water open the list, before coumarin, limonene, benzyl alcohol and linalool. Benzyl benzoate, alpha-isomethyl ionone, citral and farnesol come before an antioxidant, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, which closes the list.
