Night orchid is an accord, a blend of materials composed to evoke the flower. Ambrofix, a synthetic molecule with ambergris accents, completes the woody, resinous base.
What the label declares
The list opens with alcohol, fragrance and water, ahead of tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, a woody, ambery molecule, alpha-isomethyl ionone, with a violet scent, and limonene. Bergamot and lemon peel oils also appear.
It lists Virginia cedar oil, echoing the cedar in the base, vanillin, hydroxycitronellal, coumarin, geranium flower oil, a rose extract and benzaldehyde, with a bitter almond scent.
