Jasmin, when Molinard celebrates the flower of Grasse...

Having become a “Living Heritage Company,” the venerable house Molinard never ceases to spread, through its delicate and precious perfumes, the spirit and prestigious past of the city of Grasse. By offering Jasmin among the very first perfumes in the Les Éléments range, Molinard celebrates the land that gave rise to it and that produced its finest perfumery raw materials.

Jasmin, the fragrance of Molinard's queen flower

As early as 1860, the house Molinard produced its very first perfume named Jasmin. This shows how much the land of Grasse, a major center of the flower for perfumery, inspired the talents of Molinard's noses. Indeed, jasmine, a lovely opulent flower shaped like a star, has been cultivated since the 19th century on the southern lands of Grasse. Although jasmine cultivation has since crossed borders to spread to Asian countries (particularly for sambac jasmine), the flower, especially Jasmine Grandiflorum (large-flowered jasmine), is still harvested in Grasse from July to October and, if possible, at dawn.

Many perfume houses, including the prestigious house Chanel, use this opulent French jasmine for their finest fragrant creations: Chanel's N°5, Guerlain's Guerlinade (and the many fragrances derived from it, including Shalimar), and more recently Flowerbomb by Victor and Rolf or the extremely famous J'adore.

With such success, jasmine had to be represented by one of the oldest houses of traditional Grasse perfumery: Molinard. Thus the beautiful Jasmin was born for the second time in 1995, then for the very last time in 2015. Blossoming from the fragrant childhood memories of the new head of the family company born in Grasse, Célia Lerouge-Bénard, Jasmin offers its divine scents through a fresh and poetic composition.

The bottles of the magnificent Les Éléments collection are sometimes dressed in a vivid purple, sometimes dressed in a sober cylindrical glass garment recalling its historical origin. Jasmin thus appears in these two forms, sometimes in a garment of light in Molinard's symbolic colors, sometimes in a kind of “still” recalling those created for the Molinard workshops by Eiffel.

From the top notes, Jasmin sends us its precious notes of… jasmine, the better to leave us dazed with freshness through a few refreshing citrus notes. Then rose and orange blossom, queens of Grasse, open the heart of the beautiful Jasmin, further spicing it with a touch of clove. In depth, sandalwood brings its intoxicating sensuality, the better to be enveloped in the cottony softness of white musks.
