Jacomo de Jacomo, an ultra masculine tribute. The story of Jacomo is the story of two men. One is French, Gérard Courtin, the other American, James Kaplan.
The house of Jacomo, founded by an American, James Kaplan, and a Frenchman, Gérard Courtin, has stood out since the 1960s with a particularly bold avant-garde style suited both to the American jet set, where the first stores were established, and to a European audience. Passionate about perfumery, Gérard Courtin chose to launch Silences, a beautiful feminine perfume, in 1978. The house then presented a captivating masculine perfume in 1980 under the name, ultimately logical, of Jacomo.
Jacomo, or the essence of a virile, distinguished man, signed by perfumer Christian Mathieu
The house of Jacomo was often talked about for its haute couture designs, imbued with a very New York spirit but also highly innovative. When it comes to perfume creation, the inspiration is, so to speak, the same, and both Silences and Jacomo became the fragrant voices of that distinctive New York style of the 1980s throughout the world.
To compose his fine masculine Jacomo, Gérard Courtin called on a very young and highly promising perfumer, Christian Mathieu. This first collaboration proved to be a great success and continued long after Jacomo, with the creation of Cœur de Parfum and also Perles de Silences.
The success of these various fragrances, including the bestseller Jacomo, lies particularly in the fact that Christian Mathieu is not a man to let himself be guided by marketing trends. He likes to innovate and invent, while drawing inspiration from street fashion, and it is precisely in this way that he composed Jacomo, making it one of the best-selling masculine perfumes of the 1980s. This very first perfume subsequently brought him such popularity that he went on to create the legendary Kenzo pour Homme, which would also leave its visionary mark on its era.
When the eternal masculine perfume becomes bursts of freshness and wood: Jacomo de Jacomo
The house of Jacomo experienced, notably thanks to the legendary masculine Jacomo released in 1980, years of success and major commercial launches. However, the 2000s were not a prosperous period for the house, and its new approach to picking up the fragrant thread of its history was to create all Jacomo perfumes in France in order to ensure the high quality of the raw materials as well as the final scent. Since the 2010s, Jacomo de Jacomo has therefore been a perfume 100% made in France.
To make the eaux de toilette (60% of the activity), Jacomo receives concentrates. Then, we make the perfume from A to Z. We are at the cutting edge in terms of luxury.
The fine Jacomo therefore has everything it needs to please and does not hesitate to draw on its timeless accords to seduce time and again. Its powerful, invigorating aromatic opening is designed as a concentrate of the finest aromatic herbs. Then, in the heart, spices of nutmeg, cinnamon and clove echo one another, better wrapped in sensual notes of cedar, sandalwood and rosewood. Finally, the leathery-woody depths blend with warm amber notes, nestling into a few white musks. A sillage that becomes virile strength while remaining incredibly gentle.
Jacomo de Jacomo embodies masculinity in its purest form. The man who wears it is a strong, active and seductive man. Jacomo pour Jacomo.
