Þe Wode Hath Teth

Þe Wode Hath Teth is a unisex fragrance by Heretic Parfum, composed in 2026 by Douglas Little for the Werwulf collection, tied to Robert Eggers’s film. Its title says “the woods have teeth”; this mineral woody scent brings together a mineral spark, frozen air and pine in the top, cypress, black pepper, osmanthus and carrot seed in the heart, and vetiver, musk and patchouli in the base.

Heretic Parfum places Þe Wode Hath Teth among its woody fragrances and calls it resinous, mineral and austere. Its notes, described in a medieval tongue, gather a mineral spark, frozen air and pine terpenes in the top; in the heart, snapped cypress, black pepper, osmanthus and carrot seed.

The base brings together a frozen vetiver, a primal musk and patchouli.

Smoke and Resin

The house describes an opening of smoke and ash, sharpened by juniper berry, cold as air drawn over a dying fire. In the heart, pepper and carrot seed break through resinous gurjun blossom, earthy and strange, like roots torn from frozen soil.

Oak, fir resin, mushroom and moss rise from the damp darkness; labdanum and vetiver smolder with animal warmth. Douglas Little builds the fragrance on fir balsam, lifted by a sharp charred note.

Declared Materials

The house publishes the components of the juice: black pepper, vetiver, cypress leaf, carrot seed and cistus labdanum oils, Canada balsam extract, oakmoss extract, eugenol, a marine note, and woody, ambery and several synthetic musk notes.

The formula, Heretic says, is 94% natural under the ISO 9235 standard, on a base of organic cane alcohol. The house’s website gives no regulatory ingredient list for Þe Wode Hath Teth.
