Heretic Parfum is releasing Flying Ointment in fall 2026, as a 100 ml eau de parfum priced at $350. The first batch, labeled Black Label Batch No.1, consists of 500 bottles blended, poured and bottled by hand, part of the house's Nocturnal Rituals collection.

The fragrance extends a balm of the same name, composed of plants chosen for their history and ritual uses. In notes signed with his initials, Douglas Little, founder of the house, recounts that this blend revealed to him a fragrance in its own right, which he wanted to translate into perfume.

The house traces its inspiration to flying ointments, the unguenta volandi described in the 15th and 16th centuries, preparations of plants, resins and fats associated with witches and nocturnal journeys. It frames the fragrance as an evening ritual, designed to accompany the passage into sleep.

Douglas Little describes a dark, earthy, medicinal and wild fragrance, evoking hands plunged into the soil of a forest floor. He addresses it to those who do not want to smell pretty but interesting, and the house presents it as a natural fragrance made with botanical ingredients.

What is still missing

The house does not divide the notes into top, heart and base and declares no olfactory family. The mandatory ingredient list is not published, and nothing indicates whether further batches will follow the first 500 bottles.
