Blodwode

Blodwode is a unisex fragrance by Heretic Parfum, composed in 2026 by Douglas Little for the Werwulf collection, born alongside Robert Eggers’s film. Its name means “blood wood”; this musk brings together cinnamon bark, mastic and a blood note in the top, jasmine and rose in the heart, and patchouli, vetiver, benzoin and musk in the base.

Heretic Parfum places Blodwode among its musky fragrances and describes its notes in a medieval tongue. Cinnamon bark, mastic and a blood note, “yren-blod,” form the top; jasmine and Turkish rose, the heart.

The base gathers patchouli, vetiver and benzoin, with a musk described as “flesh.” The house describes a harsh, bitter and wild fragrance, animalic and resinous.

Declared Materials

The house publishes the components of the juice: Virginia and Atlas cedarwood, patchouli, vetiver and cardamom oils, labdanum absolute, benzoin gum, Damask rose and jasmine extracts, eugenol, ionones with iris and powdery facets, and woody, ambery and synthetic musk notes.

Heretic claims 97% natural materials under the ISO 9235 standard, carried by organic cane alcohol. No regulatory ingredient list accompanies Blodwode on the house’s website.
