Dior launched Fève Délicieuse in 2015 in La Collection Privée Christian Dior. François Demachy composed an oriental gourmand around tonka bean, which he wanted both sweet and slightly bitter, paired with a warm, lightly smoky vanilla; bergamot and rose bring freshness. Kafkaesque, May 2015
On May 1, 2015, Kafkaesque felt that Fève Délicieuse celebrates vanilla more than tonka: a dark vanilla, a little smoky, as if splashed with rum. The opening, dominated by a green note of anise and cardamom, is the part the author likes least.
After the first hour, caramel, hay and the toasted nuts of coumarin balance the sweetness without anything sticky. After four hours, tonka coats everything in a silky texture, and the base ends up evoking an amber, golden and soft.
Kafkaesque finds it very well balanced, versatile and entirely unisex, and notes that it lasts about fourteen hours, with a trail that quickly settles close to the body.
