Eros Flame

The house describes Eros Flame as a fragrance of contrasts, at once citrusy, ambery, and woody. The Italian citrus of the opening is warmed by pepper; a wave of peppery and floral notes leads to a base of precious woods, tonka bean, and vanilla.

Top, heart, and base

The opening pairs lemon, mandarin, and a chinotto accord, an Italian bitter orange, with black pepper from Madagascar. Wild rosemary gives it an aromatic facet; the house places it in the heart, with pepperwood, geranium, and rose facets.

The base brings together Texas cedar, patchouli, Haitian vetiver, a mountain oakmoss accord, and sandalwood, rounded by tonka bean and intertwined with vanilla for a soft, sensual roundness.

The notes are filed here as follows: lemon, mandarin, bitter orange, and black pepper in the top; rosemary, geranium, and rose in the heart; cedar, patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss, sandalwood, tonka bean, and vanilla in the base. Chinotto is filed under bitter orange; pepperwood has no heading of its own.

At the head of the ingredient list the house publishes are denatured alcohol, declared under the United States nomenclature (SD Alcohol 39-C), fragrance, and water. Three UV filters, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, avobenzone, and ethylhexyl salicylate, protect the juice from light.

Limonene and citral, found in citrus fruits, geraniol and citronellol, found in rose and geranium, and coumarin, found in tonka bean, are among the declared allergens. Linalool, alpha-isomethyl ionone, and isoeugenol, with its spicy carnation scent, complete the declaration; no colorant appears.
