By Woman Re-Edition 1997 brings back in 2026 the women’s fragrance Dolce & Gabbana launched in 1997, in its leopard-print bottle. The house presents it as a woody floral, as an Eau de Parfum. Sandalwood holds the base, alongside a coffee note announced at launch; the floral bouquet, for its part, is not detailed by the house.
Elena Knezevic, of Fragrantica, finds the reissue more entertaining than that of By Man: a floral centered on lily, refreshed by citrus, far friendlier than its leopard bottle suggests.
What critics say
Elena Knezevic, Fragrantica, September 2026
Elena Knezevic, who does not remember the original, judges the reissue more entertaining than the men’s. She sees in it a mainstream fragrance with a strong identity, the kind that fragrances of that era knew how to have.
She describes a floral centered on lily, bathed in citrus notes that remind her of the freshness of 1990s laundry detergents, and finds in it the charm of a fragrance straight out of that decade.
Lily of the valley, freesia and a playful bergamot give the whole a springlike air. The famous coffee reminds her of coffee by a swimming pool, and the leopard lady strikes her as far friendlier than her bottle.
