At launch, the house described Cinéma in three stages: a fresh opening of cyclamen, almond and clementine, a heart of amaryllis and Sambac jasmine, and a base of amber, white musks and vanilla. Its international page still presents it this way.

The current description

The current French description tightens the score: a mandarin essence at the top, almond blossom and white flower accords lit up by peony in the heart, and ambery and musky accords in the base. The house places the fragrance among the amber florals.

The mimosa of Bois de Jasmin

Victoria of Bois de Jasmin hears a tender mimosa, softened by jasmine and rose, over an oriental base of vanilla, sandalwood and musk made lighter by modern amber materials. In her view, mimosa appears only in the list for the eau de toilette.

What stays out

The benzoin, ambergris and Bourbon vanilla often attributed to the fragrance appear in no current description from the house. Vanilla, cyclamen and jasmine appear only in the original list, which the international page still repeats.

What the label declares

The printed list names no essential oil, the mandarin and flowers remaining folded into the fragrance mention. It includes a UV filter, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, a stabilizer, tris(tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) citrate, and three colorants, two yellows (CI 19140, CI 15985) and a violet (CI 60730).

It also declares allergens: linalool, limonene, citronellol, geraniol and citral, often linked to citrus, as well as coumarin, benzyl alcohol, benzyl salicylate, benzyl benzoate, farnesol, hydroxycitronellal and eugenol.
