Cinéma

Yves Saint Laurent launched Cinéma in 2004, an eau de parfum signed by Jacques Cavallier as a tribute to the seventh art. The house now describes it as an amber floral: a mandarin essence, almond blossom and white flower accords lit up by peony, and an ambery, musky base, in a bottle inspired by Line Vautrin.

A block of thick glass with gold lettering, closed by a gold cube stopper inspired by the works of sculptor Line Vautrin.

Between sculpture and jewel, the bottle draws, according to the house, on the work of Line Vautrin, an emblematic Parisian sculptor of the 1950s nicknamed the poet of metal. In 2004, Milano Finanza described a rectangular block closed by a gold cube stopper inspired by her work.

On the back, on thick sculpted glass, the letters YVES SAINT LAURENT are printed, which Milano Finanza likened to closing credits. Through a play of mirrors, the smooth glass reflects the name Cinéma in gold letters on the front.

The house’s international page describes a crystal bottle inspired by set lighting, topped with a gold stopper; the house sees it as a trophy for a star, echoing the seventh art the fragrance celebrates.
