Chance Eau de Toilette

Chance Eau de Toilette is the first version of Chance, the floral Jacques Polge composed for Chanel in 2002. The house describes it as a floral fragrance intertwining pink pepper, jasmine and amber patchouli, by turns floral, spicy, sensual or gourmand. It introduced the round bottle that breaks with the house’s square bottles.

Chanel describes the eau de toilette as a floral fragrance intertwining pink pepper, jasmine and amber patchouli: an unpredictable, elusive and changing fragrance, by turns floral, spicy, sensual or gourmand.

The ingredient list published by the house names several essential oils: bergamot, bitter orange peel, patchouli, jasmine and rose. Vanillin and coumarin also appear among the fragrant components declared on the box.

The eau de parfum alongside

The eau de parfum, which came later, takes up the pink pepper, jasmine and amber patchouli. The house dresses it in white musks and vanilla, which make it rounder and more enveloping than the eau de toilette.
