Eau de Cartier Eau de Toilette

Eau de Cartier was composed by Christine Nagel, today the official nose of the house Hermès. Fresh and luminous, it opens on grapefruit, bergamot and lemon, unfolds a heart of neroli and jasmine enhanced with violet leaf, and settles into amber woods, patchouli and vanilla.

Yet before taking on this position, she also worked with the greatest houses, and notably with Cartier. In 2001 she created for them the iconic Eau de Cartier, a fresh eau de toilette that today stands as an essential of this house. This emblem of perfumery has also just been revisited, in 2016, in the form of an Eau de Parfum, warmer and more sensual, unmistakably more ambery than the original. This time, however, it is to Mathilde Laurent that we owe this olfactory variation.

Cartier's limpid freshness

Although it is now a juice designed more for evening wear than for a hot summer day, L'Eau de Cartier Eau de Parfum has managed to retain the crystalline clarity of its predecessor. This new essence seems to spring forth like a source of highly creative inspiration. It is now a warmer yet equally invigorating water. Its scent becomes all the more distinctive as a result. Even though its imprint is lighter than it once was, L'Eau de Cartier Eau de Parfum has kept its playful character and its luxuriously spontaneous image. It is simply a new way of approaching the traditional values of perfumery. L'Eau de Cartier Eau de Parfum proves more generous than ever and appears like a second skin. It is thus a fragrance to be worn without artifice, with generosity.

The new flavor of L'Eau de Cartier Eau de Parfum

The warm and innovative side of L'Eau de Cartier Eau de Parfum is reflected in a design slightly different from that of its predecessor. Previously, the bottle of L'Eau de Cartier played with light to reveal a fully transparent juice. Now, it is slightly amber-tinted, echoing its scent. Of course, it retains its shape, resting within a column of glass resembling a well of light, its solid glass base ensuring stability. A drop still seems to have been caught mid-fall, at the same time causing a ripple in the glass. In terms of scent, L'Eau de Cartier Eau de Parfum still opens with a bold blend of citrus. Its dynamism comes notably from lemon, bergamot and grapefruit. Then a more floral heart takes over. White flowers are numerous, and one notices in particular a combination of jasmine, neroli, hedione and galbanum. The whole is further enhanced by the powdery, green presence of violet leaves. Finally, L'Eau de Cartier Eau de Parfum leaves behind a woody sillage built on amber woods, patchouli and Peru balsam. It is here that this juice reveals its full depth and structure. The whole nonetheless remains warm thanks to vanilla, and brings a breath of cleanliness in its wake through its concentration of white musks.
