Jaïpur, a journey into the heart of India and above all into the heart of the history of the house of Boucheron

Jaïpur Homme is a fragrance signed Boucheron, launched in 1998. More than a fragrance, it is of extreme purity and takes one on a true sensory journey. In this case, it draws inspiration from the marvelous gardens of the Maharajahs. Moreover, it beautifully conveys the precious codes of the house of Boucheron, namely the golden godron or the sapphire-colored cabochon. Its spicy oriental fragrance manages to remain very fresh and its seductive character can only make one succumb. Its fragrance is as intense as can be and its sillage is memorable… So there is no point resisting, one will inevitably succumb to its effluvia coming straight from the distant lands of India.

When the history of Boucheron crosses paths with India

The fragrance Jaïpur by Boucheron evokes the journeys to India of Louis Boucheron in the 1920s. Thus, the Jaïpur man is, in his image, the pioneer of a personal adventure. He is creative, in search of harmony and, with him, nothing can be ordinary. Moreover, India is a country very dear to the history of the house of Boucheron. Indeed, escorted by his servants carrying six caskets of precious stones, including 7571 diamonds and 1432 emeralds, the Maharajah of Patiala walked through the door at 26 place Vendôme in August 1928. On this date, he entered the Boucheron boutique whose glowing reputation he had heard of. He then asked the jeweler to create for him an exceptional set of 149 pieces with several thousand diamonds, rubies and emeralds from his treasury. Even today, this order remains unmatched and is the largest ever known on the Place Vendôme. Of course, beyond being an incredible anecdote, this story greatly contributed to expanding the prestige of the house of Boucheron, and Jaïpur is therefore a tribute to this country so dear to the house.

Jaïpur immerses us in the heart of India

Jaïpur is built on the complementarity between two accords. Freshness is thus set against the fiery, spicy sensuality of its essence. Its top notes combine citrus lemon with cardamom and bergamot. The heart, on the other hand, is more floral. It is composed, among other things, of jasmine, carnation and rose. Moreover, cinnamon then enhances the whole with its very spicy and oriental facet. The base, for its part, is more woody. There one finds the persistent scent of cedarwood and patchouli, softened by the voluptuousness of tonka bean. This fragrance is very creative and in total harmony with itself. It would almost evoke a barber's cream in an imaginary Indian shop in Rajasthan.

The bottle, for its part, is inspired by the famous astronomical garden imagined by the maharajah Jai Singh II. Its shape echoes that of an arch and it thus gives off a very harmonious impression. Its materials are very noble. Steel gives it modernity and its proportions are very precise. This fragrance of rare beauty has not aged a bit. Slightly retro, it is a timeless, elegant and sensual classic that never grows tiresome.

The equivalent of Jaïpur Homme exists for women and is called: Jaïpur Bracelet.
