The Beat is an English word literally translated as heartbeat. As you may have guessed, The Beat Woman is a fragrance full of life. It embodies the beats of a heart, the pulsations of music, the effervescence of a high-voltage city
While Burberry perfectly represents trendy English chic and its elegant ladies in sleek clothing and impeccable trench coats, the brand has for some years now proven far more modern and fashionable than it was long considered to be. Thus Burberry fragrances, including the lovely The Beat, cleverly blend striking modernity with retro scents to enchant us even further. All the more so when three famous names in modern perfumery took charge of the fragrance that would become The Beat in 2008!
The Beat, or the heartbeats of a talented trio of perfumers Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Béatrice Piquet
With Burberry London or Burberry Brit, Burberry perfumery has demonstrated its attachment to its British roots through scents typical of powdery roses or green botanical beauty. But through these beautiful fragrances, the brand also displays its absolute modernity and its desire to win over a much trendier and younger audience than the one it originally targeted.
By having The Beat composed by three of the greatest perfumers of the time, Burberry once again sought to give its fragrances a youthful boost. For whether through Olivier Polge or Dominique Ropion, The Beat promised to be a fragrance of daring.
Indeed, for Olivier Polge, now the in-house perfumer for Chanel, the beauty of great classics deserves to be given a twist through fine innovations without losing any of its elegance. This is precisely what he did with N°5 L'Eau or with the masculine iris of Dior Homme. As for Dominique Ropion, he too likes to blend classic ingredients with far more unexpected materials, stating that everything that can change the order of things and transform the perception of fragrances makes him dream. The same holds true for Béatrice Piquet, who passed away too soon, but who fortunately left behind a surprising and unprecedented olfactory legacy through the uninhibited floral nectar of One Million or through L'Instant pour Homme.
These three great figures of perfumery would therefore not hesitate for a second to bring to The Beat a skillfully original orchestration.
The Beat fragrance by Burberry
A Ceylon green tea for the British touch and a beautiful iris for elegance, The Beat, or the eclecticism of Burberry.
The Beat was designed as a fragrance paying tribute to the vital energy of music while retaining the splendors of British sophistication associated with the Burberry brand.
Thus The Beat is above all a cocktail of pure energy adorned with mandarin, bergamot and pink pepper to send its positive and highly rhythmic waves from the very beginning of its olfactory composition. Yet at heart, it is indeed precious and delicate notes that we find there, as if the high-pulse music of the opening had transformed into delicate boudoir music with very British green tea notes and a powdery iris at the height of its elegance. These soft olfactory sounds are extended by languorous, smoldering depths of cedarwood and vetiver wrapped in white musks.
