The house places raspberry and lychee in the top, Damask rose as the heart note, Akigalawood® and benzoin in the base. It describes a raspberry played as an overdose and a rose that blends a natural rose, from double extraction, with a rose obtained through upcycling and biotechnology.

Akigalawood, a link to Angel

Jessica, on Now Smell This, presents akigalawood as a Givaudan molecule that smells like a light, peppery patchouli, without the earthiness of the natural material. She sees in it the link with Angel: the clash between an almost excessive sweetness and a strange wood.

Benzoin, a warm resin, rounds out this woody base. The house calls it enveloping and captivating, and gives it the role of answering the liveliness of the raspberry and lychee.

What Angel Nova leaves to Angel

Angel Nova takes up neither the praline, nor the caramel, nor the patchouli declared for Angel. The link lies in the star, the name and the akigalawood, which Jessica likens to the original’s patchouli.
