Angel Étoile Givrée is the limited edition Mugler devoted to Angel for the 2018 holiday season. The bottle changes its outfit, not the fragrance: the asymmetrical star is dressed in a pearly white melting into Angel’s blue, like a snowflake, and holds the 1992 Eau de Parfum, signed by Olivier Cresp, in a 25 ml refillable spray.
Angel’s formula, unchanged
Étoile Givrée changes only the bottle. The house fills it with the Angel Eau de Parfum launched in 1992, and the launch press stressed an unchanged recipe: that of Olivier Cresp, which Mugler regards as the very first gourmand in perfumery.
Three facets
For this edition, Mugler describes a gourmand oriental in three facets: a celestial facet carried by bergamot, a delight facet made of red fruits, and a voluptuous facet pairing vanilla with patchouli, used in overdose in the original formula.
Praline and caramel give the fragrance its gourmand character; in the United States, the house adds a caramelized cotton candy and honey.
The notes of the Eau de Parfum
The notes are those of the Angel Eau de Parfum, since the edition takes up its formula: bergamot in the top; praline, cotton candy, caramel, red fruits and honey in the heart; patchouli and vanilla in the base.
