A*Men Pure Malt, a unique process
It should be noted that the composition of A*Men Pure Malt is a unique and unprecedented process in the history of fragrances, just like the 2009 Liqueurs de Parfums. Here, it is the same patented aging process used in the making of spirits, namely the oxidation-reduction technique. This time, an additional technique is used, that of toasting. This technique consists of controlling the degree of charring on the inside of the barrels, which helps accentuate certain notes of the original fragrances. For A*Men Pure Malt, the fragrance is enhanced by American oak, which amplifies the power of the woody tonalities. Aged in oak barrels, the A*Men Pure Malt fragrance reveals the pure malt to its fullest, resulting in a perfectly peaty scent of rare distinction. It is the perfumer Jacques Huclier who is behind this incredible and carefully crafted composition.
A*Men Pure Malt, the originality of pure malt
Here, then, we have a fragrance of particular originality and an unprecedented composition. A*Men Pure Malt opens with pure malt notes that fill the top notes. A pure malt is a whisky made exclusively from malted barley, unlike blends, which mix barley-based whisky with wheat-based whisky. In effect, one could say that pure malt is the AOC of whisky. The heart of A*Men Pure Malt is the pairing of barley, coffee and fruity notes, notes that lend a sweet and soft character. Finally, the base is composed of smoky accords along with oakmoss, giving the whole its woody character. True oakmoss comes from the lichen that grows on the trunks and branches of an oak tree. The essence is obtained by solvent extraction of the moss. At the heart of compositions, oakmoss gives off earthy, woody tonalities, with a scent close to mushrooms and undergrowth. The A*Men Pure Malt bottle takes up the same codes as its predecessor. The iconic star is tinted for the occasion in an amber color, the color of the precious nectar.
