In fact, it echoed Thierry Mugler's passion for comics, those American comic strips typical of the 1950s. At once woody and gourmand, this juice did not fail to surprise, yet it was immediately embraced by men. It was thus revisited on numerous occasions, eventually leading to an A*Men Pure Tonka version in 2016.

The seductive scent of A*Men Pure Tonka

A*Men Pure Tonka is an innovative juice that proves to be particularly seductive. It sits halfway between sensitivity and virility. As such, it reflects the image of a contemporary man and is quite simply irresistible. To achieve this, Thierry Mugler incorporated into its composition one of the most sensual ingredients there is: tonka bean. It is to perfumer Jacques Huclier that this fragrance is owed. A*Men Pure Tonka is a highly addictive and bewitching juice belonging to the oriental family. It plays on contrasts, displaying both a torrid warmth and a fresher, more aromatic accord based on lavender. Indeed, this plant has been emblematic of men's perfumery since its beginnings. Lavender also evokes the scent of old-fashioned barbers' soap, which explains men's attachment to it. Here it is enhanced with a bewitching touch of patchouli as well as the exoticism of vanilla. Coffee also lends more character to the whole. Nevertheless, the composition proves to be perfectly balanced, offering a harmonious and warm result. Moreover, it should be noted that the tonka bean used in this juice comes from a conservation program in the Caura region of Venezuela.

The Thierry Mugler bottle

Finally, regarding its bottle, the case of the A*Men Pure Tonka fragrance was designed by Thierry Mugler himself. He thus conceived the bottle in his own image, incorporating a star, the emblematic shape of the house. Furthermore, Thierry Mugler chose the star as an attribute of each of his products because this celestial body has always fascinated him. As a child, many people said of him that he more often had his head in the stars than his feet on the ground. He sees in this symbol the embodiment of infinity, and it is for this reason that he chose to place it on the front of the bottle. However, for this revisit, the bottle traded its former blue hue for a more mysterious and warm coppery tone. The whole is protected by a shell of glossy zamac, smooth and soft to the touch. The bottle thus appears as an imposing block, like a particularly virile monolith tinted with a most captivating opaque black.
