Alien Essence Absolue

Alien Essence Absolue the quintessence of divinity Having offered the fragrant delights of an Alien in a bottle, Mugler persists and signs on, inviting us to taste in 2012 the divinity of Alien Essence Absolue.

Having upended perfumery in the 1990s with Angel, composed by Olivier Cresp, the house of Thierry Mugler needed to reinvent itself by offering a fragrance as original and innovative as the very first gourmand fragrance in history. Composed by Dominique Ropion, Alien launched in 2005 and offered everyone the magical universe of Thierry Mugler with rare accords and an unprecedented sillage combining woody notes, amber notes and precious jasmine. In 2012 Alien Essence Absolue came to complete the Alien range, becoming more syrupy and sensual than ever...

Alien Essence Absolue or Dominique Ropion's amber elixir for Thierry Mugler

Alien was something of a snub from Thierry Mugler to all those who still believed that Angel would remain the young perfume house's only bestseller! For in composing Angel, Thierry Mugler had precise ideas and a perfumer so talented that repeating the feat was inevitable.

Thus Dominique Ropion composed for Alien an elixir of light with a solar, radiant femininity, between a precious jasmine flower and an animalic, bewitching cashmeran note. From its very first year, Alien captivated with its original and unprecedented radiance, which would develop into different variations and faces; sometimes fresh and light with Alien Eau de Toilette, sometimes sensual and amber with the magnificent Alien Essence Absolue.

Alien Essence Absolue aims to be the warm, sensual face of the Alien goddess, an amber and vanilla portrait that bewitches and charms everything in its path, carrying us to oriental gates where the sun reigns and the flower is magnified.

If Alien were a Gewurztraminer, Alien Essence Absolue would be a Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives. Dominique Ropion revisits his work with immense generosity, letting his recipe simmer with love. The Critic of Parfum.com about Alien Essence Absolue.

When vanilla and ambers turn to velvet, the goddess of Alien Essence Absolue intoxicates us with happiness

To compose Alien Essence Absolue, Dominique Ropion sought to magnify the jasmine notes, making Alien more languid and sensual than ever through the addition of a few addictive sweet gourmand touches of vanilla or licorice, but above all through the amplitude that the amber woods took on in this Alien Essence Absolue, which now leans toward the oriental-woody fragrance family much more than the original did.

Alien Essence Absolue thus retains the fresh top notes of its fine 2012 predecessor but wraps itself in a few notes of anise, both aromatic and sweet. At the heart, sambac jasmine still plays the luminous, floral star, better guiding the way toward the new depths of vanilla and licorice notes. The distinguished, animalic beauty of cashmeran is heightened by these gourmand accords, which open the doors to the powerful oriental scents of amber woods and heliotropin.

I worked on this eau de parfum intense around the idea of mysticism and power, Dominique Ropion reveals about Alien Essence Absolue by Thierry Mugler.
