Giorgio Armani launched Acqua di Gioia in June 2010, a women’s eau de parfum signed by Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion and Loc Dong, inspired by his stays on Pantelleria and Antigua. The house describes it today through crushed mint, primofiore lemon from Calabria, a water jasmine and a base of cedar, labdanum and brown sugar.
A bottle with organic curves in transparent glass, topped with a rounded emerald green cap that the house compares to a precious stone.
At launch, Giorgio Armani said he designed the bottle from the shape of a drop of water. According to WWD, he wanted it to be as much a tribute to the shape of a woman as to the beautiful form water takes.
Today the house sees it as a tribute to nature and to Giorgio Armani’s idea of natural femininity: curved lines born of natural forms, a pure, organic design, and transparent glass that holds the fragrance.
A rounded emerald green cap crowns it; Armani compares it to a precious stone, a bearer of serenity and optimism. The eau de parfum is sold in 30, 50 and 100 milliliter sizes.
