Acqua di Giò Essenza

Although the Acqua Di Gio Essenza fragrance was created in 2012, it stems from a much older story. This dates back to 1996 when the Armani house decided to create a fragrance named Acqua Di Gio.

The story of Acqua Di Gio Essenza begins in 1996. At that time, the Armani house created an essence named Acqua Di Gio. Released in 2012, Acqua Di Gio Essenza is a brighter, fresher and above all much more seductive essence than its predecessor. Acqua Di Gio Essenza is an aromatic woody fragrance for modern, free men. The reinterpretation of the legendary Acqua Di Gio was created by Alberto Morillas, who chose a particularly Mediterranean composition.

A Spaniard for the creation of an Italian water

Born in Seville, Alberto Morillas holds memories of warm, Mediterranean scents. Self-taught, Alberto Morillas learned chemistry and perfumery on his own and rose to the top by himself. His first creation, Must by Cartier, influenced the rest of his career. In 2003, Alberto Morillas was recognized for his talent and received the François Coty award for best perfumer. Visionary and sensitive, Alberto Morillas likes to combine natural materials with synthetic ingredients. Regarding the creation of Acqua Di Gio Essenza, Alberto Morillas states that the strengths of Acqua Di Gio are such that when you smell it, you feel good, it evokes vacations, moments of pleasure. He wanted to keep this idea, but rebuild the whole story. He had in mind this contrast of water, but also something volcanic. When he presented Acqua Di Gio to Mister Armani, the idea was the contrast of khaki and the Mediterranean, so water, sand, sun.

For the Essenza, it was the idea of white wood, to evoke this image of light on water, this shimmer. Alberto Morillas is also responsible for magnificent fragrances such as Valentina by Valentino, Mademoiselle Ricci by Nina Ricci and Flower by Kenzo by Kenzo.

Acqua Di Gio Essenza, a modern, woody freshness

To reinterpret the legendary Acqua Di Gio, Alberto Morillas relied on the seductive power of the fragrance. The freshness and vigor of the original essence have been reinforced here. Acqua Di Gio opens with the vivid freshness of bergamot and grapefruit zest. These citrus notes are combined with the sparkling tones of cascalone. This is a synthetic molecule that perfectly evokes the freshness of clear water. The calone present in Acqua Di Gio has here given way to cascalone, now a more modern molecule. The heart of Acqua Di Gio Essenza is floral and modern thanks to the use of paradisone. This is also a synthetic molecule. Before it, laboratories used hedione, but paradisone is now considered the pinnacle of hedione as it offers a much purer aspect and enhances all the other ingredients. Paradisone offers floral and jasmine-like scents and heightens the purity of all the other notes. Here, it is combined with jasmine, as well as more aromatic tones such as sage and basil. Finally, the base is woody, delicate and sensual with the presence of ambroxan, patchouli, vetiver, as well as Atlas cedar, which releases all its nobility.

This new installment of the Acqua Di Gio saga strongly recalls the original Eau de Toilette. However, this creation by Alberto Morillas also stands apart in many respects. With him, the Calone that once headed this fragrance has given way to Cascalone. Its freshness is thus reinforced and appears very long-lasting.

Its heart also takes on a youthful boost and is brightened by Paradisone. This reinforces the olfactory duration of the other ingredients and manages to enhance them. Finally, its base is completely reinvented. Everything is very reworked for an extremely sensual result.

Moreover, still imbued with the same vigor and the same freshness, you will be seduced by the Acqua Di Gio aftershave lotion. This moisturizes and soothes while leaving a very fresh scented veil on the skin. You then feel more invigorated than ever and ready to start the day with enthusiasm.

The Acqua Di Gio Essenza Eau de Parfum by Giorgio Armani

Acqua Di Gio Essenza: a new, more intense interpretation for unrivaled sensuality.

Rediscover the legend of Acqua di Giò in a new eau de parfum. The freshness of deep waters combined with the intensity of the most precious woods.
A sun-kissed fragrance. Acqua di Giò Essenza, composed by Alberto Morillas, stands apart from Acqua di Giò in many respects.

At the top, the famous Calone, which once plunged into marine salinity, has given way to a new raw material (used here for the first time), Cascalone. It permeates the whole fragrance and gives it this extraordinary, long-lasting freshness. Moving to the heart: hedione, a founding material of contemporary perfumery, is replaced by one of its descendants, still very young on the perfumer's palette: Paradisone. Like its predecessor, it has the astonishing ability to brighten everything around it, and reinforce the persistence of each ingredient. The base also stands apart. It clones nothing, it reinvents everything. Almost every one of the founding elements is present but completely reworked.

The result... An unrivaled sensuality, a call to the skin.

Notes: Calabrian bergamot, Cascalone, Atlas cedar, Haitian vetiver.
