White Suede is the eau de parfum Tom Ford launched in 2009 in the White Musk collection of his Private Blend line. Musk meets leather and suede here: Bulgarian rose, saffron and thyme in the top, lily of the valley, olibanum, tea and maté at the heart, sandalwood, white musks and amber in the base.

The spiced rose
Bulgarian rose, saffron and thyme form the top. Kevin, on Now Smell This, reads in them an evocation of Middle Eastern perfumery, which he finds cheap-smelling and old-fashioned.
Suede and leather
The heart pairs lily of the valley, the suede accord and a white leather with tea, maté and olibanum, an incense resin. For Osmoz, the smoky tea and maté support the suede, and lily of the valley brightens the whole.
The musks
Sandalwood, white musks and amber make up the base, woody and soft according to Osmoz. For Kevin, White Suede turns into pure laundry-detergent musk at the end of its development, and that musk, he says, never leaves.
