Tobacco Chocolat

Tom Ford returns to tobacco, the raw material that has driven the success of the Private Blend since Tobacco Vanille. The process, however, is new: rather than juxtaposing tobacco and cocoa, the house co-distills them together — slowly roasted leaves and dark chocolate run through the same apparatus — to obtain the accord it calls cocoa smoke, which serves as the thread running through the whole composition.

The stance taken is that of a dark gourmand character: the cocoa is worked on its roasted, bitter and smoky side rather than its sweet side. Daniela Andrier signs the composition. Reviewers inevitably compare it to Tobacco Vanille — the vanilla replaced by dark chocolate and orange peel — and find it has long longevity, reported at eight to twelve hours.

Fragrantica and Parfumo note, in addition to the official pyramid, an akigalawood and a cocoa butter that the house does not place in any tier: they are mentioned here without being assigned a place. Eau de Parfum in 30, 50 and 100 ml, plus a 250 ml decanter, first distributed at Harrods, and sold from €165 at Sephora.
