Tobacco Oud Intense

The Private Blend fragrances reflect Tom Ford's very personal tastes. As such, they very often contain vanilla, amber and patchouli, his three favorite materials. Nevertheless, for the past few years, Tom Ford has also had an absolute passion for oud wood. He therefore chose to place this ingredient center stage in a brand new fragrance named Tobacco Oud Intense.

A reinterpretation of Tom Ford's previous fragrance Tobacco Oud

As the name of this fragrance suggests, Tobacco Oud Intense is none other than an amplified version of the previous Tobacco Oud from 2013. Both share a pronounced emphasis on Tom Ford's taste for oud wood. Indeed, since 2007, the creator has regularly placed this ingredient at the heart of his fragrances. Tom Ford's very first essence to contain it was called Oud Wood. It was then a very woody juice. This time, however, oud wood takes on an entirely different character. It is now paired with smokier vapors of flavored tobacco. Tobacco Oud Intense is a particularly original creation that fits perfectly within the world of the Private Blend Collection. Indeed, Tom Ford is fond of saying that Private Blend is his perfume laboratory; it is the place where he can create original fragrances, unique and freed from the usual conventions of perfumery, he says, Private Blend was designed with true perfume enthusiasts in mind.

The olfactory richness of Tobacco Oud Intense

Tobacco Oud Intense develops, just like its predecessor, a soft and warm blend of woody notes paired with a warmer, spicier breath. Through it, Tom Ford wanted to evoke the scent of dokha, a blend of aromatic herbs, flowers and spiced tobacco that has been smoked in secret across the Arabian Peninsula for over 500 years. For the occasion, Tobacco Oud Intense enhances its oud wood with multiple spices dominated by coriander. Its somewhat lavender-tinged scent immediately places us in a very Mediterranean and masculine world. It is nevertheless softened by the enveloping presence of sandalwood and tonka bean. Amber in turn helps make this juice more syrupy. Other woods also add structure to the whole. Cedar and patchouli only heighten the vibrant intensity of Tobacco Oud Intense. Finally, for more animalic depth, this composition ends with a more animalic scent of castoreum.
