Escapade Gourmande Grand Cru

Escapade Gourmande Grand Cru comes out from Maison Mataha in 2026, a French house of highly concentrated fragrances, as a 100 ml Absolu de Parfum. The founding couple and perfumer Vincent Ricord reinterpret Escapade Gourmande, the house’s first fragrance, which it now presents as its icon.

A house born of a vanilla

Maison Mataha says it was born of a desire to explore an intense, dark and enveloping vanilla. Escapade Gourmande, conceived around the memory of a crème brûlée, became its founding creation, and its international success made it possible to build a collection of Extraits de Parfum, all conceived and made in France.

What the Grand Cru changes

The Grand Cru does not go up in concentration: the original extrait is already dosed at 35%, like the Absolu. The house locates the difference in natural materials, with two vanilla absolutes, Cristal and Bourbon, meant to give the fragrance more richness, texture and sensuality.

The comforting warmth of the original was to remain intact, the house explains. Peru balsam, absent from the original extrait’s notes, joins the black sugar, tonka bean and musks it already listed, and tonka now comes in the form of an absolute.

What is still missing

No critic has yet published a signed review of Escapade Gourmande Grand Cru, and the house has presented no campaign for its launch. Its product page, on the other hand, details the notes by tier, the dosage, the ingredients and the perfumer’s name.
