Tabac Tabou, or the sacred meaning of perfume At a time when tobacco is under fire and banned by the WHO, Parfum d’Empire makes a bold choice by placing it at the center of its new composition Tabac Tabou. Known for going against the current, Parfum d’Empire wanted here to pay homage to the sacred meaning of perfume.
In creating the perfume house Parfum d’Empire, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato gave free rein to his passion for natural raw materials, rare and noble materials reserved for exceptional perfumes alone. Tabac Tabou would be one of them. An ode to the plant world but also to a refined animalic quality, Tabac Tabou is a perfume that is savored like a great vintage.
Tabac Tabou, between rare essences and sacred smoke
Marc-Antoine Corticchiato is one of those rare people who know how to create a perfume while also possessing the divine art of knowing how to bring raw materials to life. A doctor of chemistry, the man behind Parfum d’Empire first encountered fragrant raw materials in research laboratories, studying their extraction methods, before meeting them again in perfumery vials to better blend them together.
It is therefore hardly surprising that the perfumes of the house Parfum d’Empire are so magnificent, given that their creator has established an intimate dialogue with every component of his fragrant works!
Tabac Tabou was thus born of the invaluable talents of Marc-Antoine Corticchiato. Like a master cellar master, he composed for Tabac Tabou an ode to ancestral, sacred smoke, offering it the rarest of raw materials, such as narcissus and immortelle.
The magnificent Tabac Tabou was soon celebrated by discerning perfumery connoisseurs, who did not hesitate to award it the prestigious Fifi Awards 2016, even as its master perfumer had already won the award the previous year with Corsica Furiosa. Marc-Antoine Corticchiato clearly knows how to create nothing but great vintages of perfumery!
Like Pocahontas finding herself at the royal court of England, the blending of her wild sillage with the scents of European soaps and perfumes, the enclosing of her throbbing, voluptuous skin in the clean, formal corset, evokes the meeting of two worlds. Of the Old and the New. Of the plant and the animal. It is the quintessence of the wild encountering the refinement of civilization. Musque-moi on Tabac Tabou, Parfum d’Empire.
The fragrant swirls of Tabac Tabou, signed Marc-Antoine Corticchiato
As a true expert in the research of fragrant raw materials, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato selected around his Tabac Tabou the most precious ingredients to bring out the best of the different facets of this famous tobacco note.
Thus narcissus absolute, with its scents of dried flowers, marries beautifully with the honeyed, syrupy notes of immortelle to open the ball of Tabac Tabou’s top notes. Then, at the heart, Tabac Tabou offers its finest notes of lilac, linden blossom, lily of the valley, violet and rose, wrapping itself all the more in botanical strength against the smoky forces of narcissus, which shines throughout the discovery of the fragrance. It is the wild notes, moreover, that close the ball of Tabac Tabou’s scents, where labdanum and honey grow more searingly leathery than ever.
The richness and rarity of Tabac Tabou’s fragrant ingredients make it not only an exceptional perfume, but also a limited-edition perfume that only a privileged few may enjoy…
