Rivières Insouciance de Cartier, the scent of a waterfall flowing from flower to flower. Cartier is one of the most prestigious French jewelry and perfume houses. Founded more than 150 years ago, it never ceases to dazzle with its precious objects, while integrating into each of its creations three fundamental pillars: creativity, authenticity and originality.
Since its founding, Cartier has upheld artisanal expertise and shown immense creativity in surprising its clients. First a jeweler, Cartier then decided to transform its jewelry sets into invisible adornments: perfumes. Since these two types of creation share the same primary purpose of enhancing the people who wear them, the boundary between these two worlds is often very thin. And it is precisely all the sparkle and refinement of a jewelry perfume that is found in Rivières Insouciance de Cartier. Part of a collection of three perfumes, this one is described as the most joyful and almost childlike of the trio. Here is our review of it.

Rivières Insouciance de Cartier, a luxurious perfume
Like all of Cartier's creations, Rivières Insouciance immerses us in an infinitely noble and luxurious world. With it, everything is refinement and elegance. As such, Mathilde Laurent, the perfumer in charge of this creation, paid particular attention to the choice of raw materials. Each one comes from the finest quality, so as to unfold a particularly intoxicating scent. What is more, Rivières Insouciance contains several ingredients ranking among the noblest in the perfumer's entire palette, such as iris and violet. Rivières Insouciance de Cartier undeniably belongs to the register of fine perfumery. Yet it does not lack spontaneity and manages to offer a breath synonymous with youth and cheerfulness.
A more environmentally responsible bottle
Through this composition, Cartier reveals the full beauty of a natural landscape. Here, it is a river flowing from flower to flower. This waterfall sparkling in the shade of fruit trees is a genuine tribute to the splendor of natural elements. And to preserve consistency with this message, Cartier decided to design a bottle more respectful of the planet. Refillable, it is only available in a single 100 ml size. It is also lighter than its predecessors, in order to reduce its carbon footprint during manufacturing. Finally, it is presented in cardboard packaging whose raw material, wood, comes from sustainably managed forests.
Rivières Insouciance, an evocation of Cartier's two favorite worlds
Finally, it should be noted that Rivières Insouciance highlights Cartier's two favorite worlds: jewelry and perfumery. To design its sparkling scent, Mathilde Laurent says she drew inspiration from the word sparkling. The result is a joyful and irreverent character, rarely allowed in perfumery. Here, this sparkling quality is handled with mastery. We wanted to evoke a fresh new feeling, and the word Rivières came to us as an obvious choice, recounts perfumer Mathilde Laurent, in charge of creating the Rivières de Cartier. It sits at the crossroads of nature and jewelry, since one speaks of rivières of diamonds, and it allowed a connection to be made with perfumery, with the idea of fresh waters.
