Safari for Men is an eau de toilette for men from Ralph Lauren, launched in 1992. Inspired by the freedom and adventure of the safari, it pairs lemon, bergamot, tarragon and eucalyptus at the top with an aromatic heart of rosemary, geranium, lavender and clove, over a base of vetiver, oakmoss, patchouli and leather.
Ralph Lauren breaks Safari for Men down into three stages: oils of lemon, bergamot, tarragon and eucalyptus at the top; oils of rosemary, geranium, lavender and clove at the heart; accords of vetiver, oakmoss, patchouli and leather at the base.
The house ranks it among the fresh woody fragrances and highlights eucalyptus, lavender and vetiver. Osmoz classes it among the aromatic woody fragrances.
Older descriptions give a different formula. Osmoz cites tarragon, basil, rosemary, clove and lavender in the opening, fruity notes, vetiver, sandalwood and cedar, tempered by leather and tobacco.
