Sedley

Mint, with its menthol freshness, sets the tone of Sedley, surrounded by vivid citrus: bergamot, lemon, grapefruit and mandarin. Parfums de Marly launches Sedley in 2019, as an Eau de Parfum composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani. Classified in the woody family, it moves through an aromatic heart of lavender and rosemary before a base of sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and incense.

A citrus and menthol opening

Bergamot brings a slightly sweet and fresh fruitiness, lemon a sharp and tangy acidity. Grapefruit extends the fruity citrus note, while mandarin adds sparkle, brightness and a sun-kissed glow. Mint runs through this whole with its menthol freshness.

An aromatic and floral tier

Geranium evokes rose, with a floral softness. Lavender combines flower, freshness and a camphorous accent, and rosemary leans toward maquis herbs, between thyme and laurel. Iris adds a powdery, buttery touch, with violet undertones.

A base of wood and resins

Velvety, warm sandalwood, cedar with accents of pencil shavings and resin, smoky and earthy vetiver make up the woody framework. Incense brings camphor, wax and spice; patchouli a damp earthiness. Ambroxan, an amber woody material with an animalic facet, joins coppery, sensual white musks and warm musk.

A woody composition

The woody family brings together compositions built on dry, creamy or smoky woods. In Sedley, sandalwood, cedar and vetiver form this foundation, supported by earthy patchouli and ambroxan, a synthetic molecule with amber tonalities.
