Oud Satin Mood

Maison Francis Kurkdjian presented Oud Satin Mood in 2015 as the latest addition to its OUD mood collection, devoted to fragrances inspired by fabrics. Persolaise published a review as early as May 22, 2015, based on a sample provided by the house.

The collection extends OUD, which Francis Kurkdjian created in 2012, and the 2013 OUD mood trio devoted to silk, cashmere and velvet. Oud Satin Mood adds satin and, for the house, the desire to bring a shimmering Orient to life.

Satin and oud wood

The house says it took free inspiration from oud wood, a rare and precious natural material counted among the most expensive in perfumery. It describes a floral, amber and woody fragrance that evokes the wish to wrap oneself in satin, lose oneself in the depth of the moment and suspend time.

It presents it as a fabric-like eau de parfum, laid directly on the skin, and extends it with a hand and body foaming gel, a body lotion and a body oil, a hair mist and a bar of soap.

Francis Kurkdjian

The composition is by Francis Kurkdjian, whose house has offered since 2009 a collection conceived as an olfactory wardrobe. He also offers Oud Satin Mood as an extrait de parfum, a version that heightens the amber accents, with geranium, styrax and cinnamon.
