Oud Satin Mood, an eau de parfum launched in 2015 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, joins the fabric-inspired OUD mood collection. Francis Kurkdjian slides an oud wood from Laos, carried by a violet accord, over Bulgarian rose essence and Turkish rose absolute, down to a vanilla amber accord that evokes the caress of satin.

The house places a violet accord at the top, Turkish rose absolute and Bulgarian rose essence at the heart, and a base of natural oud, benzoin, vanilla and amber accord. It calls it a floral amber woody.

The violet and the roses

Carried by the finesse of the violet accord, the oud wood curves on contact with two Damascena roses, the essence from Bulgaria and the absolute from Turkey. The house sources the oud from Laos.

The amber base

A smooth vanilla amber accord softens the composition, joined by benzoin. Strawberry, caramel and cedar, often associated with the fragrance, do not appear in the house’s description.
