Nilang

This beautiful oriental aquatic was reissued around a grandiose lotus flower that appears both on the Nilang bottle and within the fragrant composition. Nilang is a highly original perfume that will undoubtedly appeal to the necks of modern women fond of vegetal and fruity scents.

Nilang, daughter of water, earth and sky…

The glasswork of René Lalique was strongly inspired by the stylistic movement of Art Deco. During that period in particular, Lalique took an interest in the Orient, in its waters, its lands, but also, as always, its flowers. By creating a perfume around the lotus flower, Nilang, the house of Lalique pays tribute to the Orient dreamed of by the house's founder.

However, this Orient is hardly real, as the era did not allow one to travel so easily to such distant lands. So what René Lalique dreamed, Nilang created…

The lotus flower, the central element of the fragrance, appears in its finest rendering on the cap of the limited edition crystal bottle released for the occasion. However, the bottle of the Nilang Eau de Parfum is also magnificently crafted, notably thanks to its chiseled, gilded water lines, lending elegance and refined charm to this lovely and Asian Nilang.

The visual of the very first version of Nilang, in 1995, showed a woman draped in fine veils soaring through the air with elegance and distinction. It would seem, then, that this floriental Nilang might well hold a few magical powers…

Few perfumes can afford the luxury of a reissue nearly two decades apart. Only fragrances of timeless charm or truly iconic perfumes can allow themselves such a luxury. This is clearly the case with this magnificent Nilang, which as early as 1995 made women dream with its fruity, floral and sensual scents. In 2011, with perfumer Gérard Anthony, it is the lotus flower that becomes the star of the fragrance, notably because it embodies, for Lalique, a symbol of purity, harmony and spiritual fulfillment.

Nilang opens on bursting, sparkling notes of mandarin and orange. Peach lends its velvety quality to this vitamin-rich cocktail, while melon brings its sweet aquatic freshness. Then the luminosity of white flowers sweeps us into a floral swirl where notes of freesia, wallflower and jasmine envelop the precious, delicate and aquatic lotus flower. Wild cranberry punctuates this radiant floral heart with a fruity touch. Finally, amber, sandalwood, patchouli and musk form intoxicating, sensual depths for this beautiful Nilang, which loves to plunge into mysterious paths. Fragrant paths that remain forever sun-kissed, thanks notably to gourmand touches of vanilla and praline, always as sparkling and bright.
